EFCC seizes $49,000, N300m mansion from 22-year-old Yahoo boy



The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission said it has recovered multimillion naira worth properties like, five exotic cars, a N300 million worth mansion and $49,000 (about N17m) from one Tomilola Owootomo, a 22-year-old suspected internet fraudster, also known as Yahoo boy.

Eyewitness reporters learnt this through a statement by the commission’s acting spokesman, Tony Orilade on Friday, that the vehicles recovered are, two Bugatti cars, a Mercedes Benz GLK, a Mercedes Benz car and a Porshe.

The commission which was it raided the suspect’s house at Gwarimpa, Abuja, on Wednesday after a tip-off, explained that Tomilola evaded arrest.

However, six suspects – Chemezie Ezeife, John Onwochei, Joel Onwochei, Marvin Nwankwo, Prince Ojenike, and Jude Olatekobowale – were arrested.

A Mercedes Benz C300, Toyota Camry and a Lexus Jeep, four laptop computers, a passport, several wrist watches, two iPhones, blackberry phones, and a Samsung phone, were also said to have been recovered from Ezeife.

The commission explained that the suspects have been helping it in its investigations.
 They would be charge to court as soon as possible
